This is reported by The Seattle Times.

Murray called these monuments "the personification of historical injustice" and called them symbols of racism, violence and hatred.

Although these monuments are privately owned, however, Murray insists that they be removed.

The Mayor of Seattle reasoned his decision by the fact that the existence of these monuments will hurt people whose ancestors were subjected to "these atrocities".

The statue of Lenin is put up for sale, but it is often subjected to a spray of red paint.

Recall, as reported URA-Inform, protests ultra-right in the US: there are victims. In Charlottesville, Virginia, representatives of neo-Nazis and the Ku Klux Klan protested against the dismantling of the monument to General Robert Lee in the Liberation of Slavery Park.
