The detention took place as part of an investigation into the embezzlement of the state budget funds allocated for the engineering and technical development of the Russian-Ukrainian state border, the territories adjacent to the areas of the antiterrorist operation and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea (the so-called "Wall" project)..

As reported by the press service of the National Olympic Committee on its Facebook page, people were detained in the order of the article of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Among the detainees are officials of the State Border Service of Ukraine and contracting enterprises.

All of them were taken to the Bureau in Kiev for delivery of written reports of suspicion, the press service explained..
