Foreign Ministry warns about cancellation of flights to Madeira due to difficult weather conditions

The corresponding decision was made because of difficult weather conditions. The Department of Consular Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Twitter microblog says that on Tuesday, August 8, over one hundred flights were canceled.

At the same time the representative of the airport said that the gusts of which reach 75 kilometers per hour.

Some flights were transferred to the neighboring island of Porto Santo, where passengers traveled by ferry. The time of the resumption of flights is not reported at the moment.

Let's remind, the airport in Madeira is recognized by pilots as one of the most difficult for landing in Europe because of its proximity to mountains and ocean.

As reported URA-Inform, the island of Honshu in Japan continues to increase the number of flood victims caused by record rains. So, the typhoon "Nora" led to the fact that at least 50 people were injured.
