According to law enforcement officers, cars on foreign numbers are increasingly being used to commit crimes, Interior Ministry spokesman Artem Shevchenko said in a commentary by DW. They just drop out after committing a crime, and finding who was behind the wheel is extremely difficult.

According to him, car drivers on euronimers often violate the SDA.

"Very often, drivers on such cars do not adhere to the rules of the road, they demonstrate a daring style of driving that can lead to an accident. In the event of an accident, they can simply drop the car and hide from the scene, "- said Shevchenko.

In the article it is stated that in Ukraine about 600 thousand cars go in Lithuanian, Polish and other numbers.

Such cars are driven, first of all, from Germany, fictitiously executed in Lithuania, from which they are then sent to Ukraine.

The buyer of such a machine under the law must, within 10 days, take her out of the country again. For violation of this period, a fine of up to 8500 UAH.

However, the Ministry of Internal Affairs notes that they do not have the authority to stop drivers of such cars for inspection.

"We do not have the authority to stop the car to check compliance with customs procedures and access to the database of the State Fiscal Service. Only foreign numbers on the car - not a reason to stop drivers, "- said Shevchenko.

According to Article 485 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, evasion from payment of customs payments is punishable by a fine of 300 percent of the unpaid amount of customs payments. Until now, the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine has only in a few cases achieved the application of this sanction. In particular, in May the Supreme Administrative Court of Ukraine decided to recover such fine from the car owner in Lithuanian numbers. This decision, however, is not mandatory for all subjects of power and should not be taken into account by other courts of general jurisdiction.
