Mamayev Kurgan instead of the park of Stalingrad widows will be parking. The Architecture Committee of the Administration of the Volgograd Region has officially confirmed that the park of Stalingrad widows is demolished for the sake of a parking lot.

Officials even made their clarification: parking for 239 cars.

According to the Volgograd's Notepad in the Committee for Architecture and Urban Planning of the Volgograd Region, an enormous part of the once green zone will be occupied by an exhibition of military equipment and parking for 239 car seats. Within the framework of the "reconstruction" the park of Stalingrad widows was completely cut down. Now it is understandable why the trees were cut down, which in the mid-60s Volgograd widows were planted in memory of husbands who died on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. They cut down for the sake of cars, 239 cars ....
