From January 1, 2018, the rules change: for the departure to the EU will need new driver's licenses. Driving permits currently in force in Ukraine appear to have to be changed. They will have a maximum period of validity of 15 years for motorists, informs the hyser. According to the EC directive 2006126, the driver's license should not be life-long, but will be issued for a maximum of 15 years. For truck drivers, this period will be reduced to 5 years.
According to the same EU directives, during the receipt of new certificates there must be a compulsory medical examination of the driver, which takes place in the European Union under a simplified procedure during a visit to one doctor. But for drivers of trucks and buses, the validity of the rights should be reduced to 5 years, and the medical examination can be more thorough.
Also, a more frequent medical checkup is provided for drivers aged 50 years.
In the EU, there is a norm for compulsory testing every 5, or even 3 years, depending on the country.
More weighty for implementation should be Directive 2003/59 / EC, which concerns professional drivers, truck drivers and buses. If directive 126 is advisory in nature and some of its provisions may be ignored by national governments, Directive 59 obliges governments to monitor the qualifications and health status of drivers of large vehicles.
It is reported that the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine will offer the Verkhovna Rada to approve a 15-year period for new drivers for non-professionals and a 5-year period for professional drivers of buses and trucks.
"We also offer to install microchips in certificates.
Our service centers are already provided with all the necessary equipment, this will protect people from fakes, "the Interior Ministry said..
Head of the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Vladislav Krikly said that already now in the EU do not allow Ukrainians with so-called "laminated" driver's licenses that do not have a validity period. While the main type of "travel" to Europe - the plastic rights that our motorists call "international". Their validity is 30 years.
