The head of the National Police said that he had signed an order, which approved the regulation of a departmental police academy. In the first set there will be 500 police officers, in the future the number of candidates will increase to 1000-1200. The main purpose of creating a university is to reduce the number of marriages in the selection of candidates for service. Sergey Knyazev announced this on July 5.

According to the head of the National Police, the Police Academy of the National Police of Ukraine will be located in Kiev along the street of the People's Militia, 9. The first set will be 500 police officers, and further in the National Police plan to accept 1000-1200 cadets.

"The main goal: want to become a police officer - serve as a patrolman, prove yourself, understand that this is your profession. A policeman on the call of the heart, and not by the persuasion of parents and friends, "- said Sergey Knyazev.

The head of the National Police stressed that the purpose of creating the Academy is to reduce the number of marriages in a difficult procedure - personnel selection. After all, over time people are disappointed in the work of a policeman, and romance very quickly ends.

"What is cheaper: to be disappointed in the police during the first year of service by the patrol, or in 5 years already trained specialist (lieutenant or senior lieutenant)? !! Where is the percentage of marriage? ", - said Sergey Knyazev.

He also added that over time, citizens will no longer see the soulless, uneducated, uninterested in the final outcome and unmotivated officials in police uniforms.

"We have conducted an analysis and see that most of the complaints about the actions or inaction of the police from citizens in this direction. We offer a new recruitment system: came to the police - worked as a patrolman or on other rank-and-file positions, except for some specific units, "said Sergey Knyazev.

He also noted that at will and in the presence of professional qualities in a patrolman with 1-3 years of experience, he can recommend for training in higher education institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
