Before his death, this man bequeathed all his papers in a zinc box, which can only be opened in 2197. Growing up in a fabulously rich family of Italian aristocrats, he spent many years behind bars and in exile in the Soviet Union. He did more for domestic aviation than any other design engineer, but his name still remains little known, and was declassified only after the fall of the USSR.

When in 1968 the world's first supersonic passenger Tu-144 took off, no one could even assume that the Tupolev Design Bureau actually only finalized the concept of twenty years ago, created by a mysterious Italian in Beria's "sharashka". His students called themselves a rocket designer Sergey Korolev and head of the OKB "Sukhoi" Mikhail Simonov. His inventions were so far ahead of the time that out of all the machines he designed, only four were brought to tests and only one was not produced for a long time serially. But practically all the aircraft that were ever built in the USSR and Russia, including the famous "Buran", include its numerous discoveries and technologies. Experts say that by genius and the ability to foresee the future, this man was comparable only with his great compatriot - Leonardo Da Vinci.

Baron Roberto Bartini - without exaggeration, the greatest genius of aviation thought of the 20th century - came to the USSR to build communism, whose adherence he became in his early youth. Even the multimillion-dollar inheritance of his father, he completely gave the Communist Party. In the "gratitude" for this (plus piles of unique drawings that he brought with him from Italy and handed over to Tukhachevsky), the "red baron", after the "red marshal," is taken to Lubyanka, where they knock him out of confession in "working for Italian intelligence". For more than 10 years, the communist Bartini has become a hostage and a victim of his own ideal - Soviet power. Many of his brilliant discoveries he accomplishes, being "zeka" Bartini.

In conclusion, he invents the world's first jet fighter with variable wing geometry, the first wing of a double sweep, without which today there would not be an American "shuttle", the first wide-body passenger liner; Creates a lot of critical components and details that are still used in aircraft construction. His ideas are so fantastic that in them at first no one believes, but gradually Bartini acquires in the prison "sharashki" the reputation of genius and miracle worker. Bartini - the only aircraft designer, whose fuselages did not need a "blow" in the wind tunnel - so accurately he managed to calculate them.

Arriving "to help in the formation of young Soviet aviation," Bartini went to work as a simple laboratory technician-photogrammetrist - and this is with the then shortage of engineers! But he was familiar with an incredible variety of things outside the specialty - literature, architecture, history - he played the piano, was engaged in painting, he knew a lot of languages ??... His machines were calculated and drawn by other people. Bartini - saw and foresaw. He will sit down, his eyes will close - an hour passes, another - then he takes a pencil and draws. He painted superbly!.

After his release in 1946, he became head of the Taganrog Aircraft Design Bureau. And although formally he is no longer in custody, he is forbidden to leave this southern town. He knew that his name would never appear on the fuselage of a serial aircraft. He knew that all his ideas would be used by other design bureaus without mentioning his authorship. But nevertheless, he continued to generate them non-stop - one after another.

Time has a width.

"The misunderstood genius of Soviet aviation" - so later will write about Robert Ludwigovich aircraft designer Antonov.

Of the 60 aircraft he designed, only a few. Too far ahead of his time of creation Bartini. Back in the early 40's Bartini developed a jet aircraft. He was supposed to fly at a speed of 2400 km / h. "It can not be," said Soviet aircraft designers. - Without a screw of aircraft there is no ".

- Aircraft for father have always been a craft. He considered theoretical physics to be his main occupation, - his son Vladimir Robertovich says. The article "Relations between physical magnitudes" by Robert Oros de Bartini, published in the solid journal "Reports of the Academy of Sciences" in 1965, caused a scandal. The author claimed that time is three-dimensional, has a length, width and height. Yet our space is six-dimensional. With this number of measurements, it is the most stable.

In support of his arguments, Bartini quoted, according to his theory, the values ??of the Planck constant, the electron charge, its mass, and so on. These values ??coincide with a very high accuracy with what was obtained experimentally.

Today, the six-dimensional structure of the universe would not cause any special objections to theoretical physicists. And in 1965 the article was published more out of pity and sympathy for the 68-year-old Bartini.

Who knows, maybe Bartini has succeeded in practice and embodied his theories about the six-dimensional space (one of the consequences of this theory - in the six-dimensional universe can be moved in time, using motion in space, because time is three-dimensional and spacelike, what we denote in words "Far" and "long time" - in essence, the same thing, there is no movement in the world, but there is a spasmodic - from the "frame" to the "frame" - the change of states).

The history of the creation of the Soviet invisible aircraft remained a mystery. The well-known historian of Soviet aviation Sharov argues that at least one such aircraft was built. When the engine started, the plane simply disappeared.

Or maybe Bartini managed to "hide" the aircraft in parallel space, "move" away from our world. To throw in the past or the future ... To achieve invisibility it is possible different ways - to make the plane transparent or mirror.

And you can try to bend the light beam so that it rounds the object we need. Einstein said that this is possible. Near large masses. Or in strong electromagnetic fields.

Only in 1991 for the first time the name of the author of the mysterious aircraft - Bartini. It turned out that the initiator of the project "Transparent aircraft" was Tukhachevsky, who patronized the designer in the 1930s.

Bartini lived alone, apart from his wife, son and grandson, whom he loved very much. Worked in the semi-darkness (Bartini did not narrow his pupils - the consequences of some disease). In the large hallway room, the chandelier, shrouded in gauze, was weakly lit, the table lamp was burning with a homemade shade of dense green paper. The designer wrote strange pictures.

The Taganrog designer Vladimir Vorontsov, who was in Bartini's Moscow apartment, was struck by a picture dated the forty-seventh year. She portrayed a flying rocket. Surprised by the shape of the flame - the fireball: "How could he know that this is how the missile launch will look like!?" The former party organizer of the Bartiniev KB remembered that in the late 1960s Robert Ludwigovich was talking about some kind of global project called "Web".

According to biographer Bartini Chutko, one room in the apartment, Robert Ludwigovich asked the painters to paint in a bright red color, another painted himself: on the blue ceiling - the sun, slightly lower on the walls, - the surface of the sea, here and there islets. The more "deeper", the greener the water became thicker, darker, and at the bottom - the bottom ". In the red room, the baron worked, and "at the bottom" rested - drank a strange mixture of the strongest tea and coffee with condensed milk - one to two - and loved the wafer cake "Surprise".

To meet the designer, it was necessary to phone him beforehand, otherwise he did not go to the door. Robert Ludwigovich was afraid of something. According to Bartini, his life was attempted three times - in Berlin, in Sevastopol and in Moscow. In 1967, in the heart of the capital: "Muscovite" with the lights off, tried to shoot him down on Kirov Street.

Bartini died on the night of 4 to 5 December 1974. When he was - two days later - they found a bathroom on the floor, water gushed from the tap, gas burned in the kitchen.

At the conclusion of the police at night Bartini felt ill, got up from the table, knocked over a chair, and went to the kitchen. He lit the gas, began to collect water in the bathroom. Then he fell backwards, hitting his head against the doorpost.

Bartini anticipated his death: it was on that night that the Baron wrote a will, put a black bag on him and hid it behind a thick curtain.

On a carefully sealed packet there was an inscription: "I removed from my articles about constants one consequence. I ask you, when you deem it appropriate, to report in any form, at your choice, that I, Roberto Bartini, came to him mathematically, I'm not sure that I was not mistaken, so I did not publish it. It needs to be checked, I do not have time for it anymore. The consequence is: the amount of life in the universe, that is, the amount of matter that, in an infinitely distant past, suddenly saw itself and its environment - also constant. World Constant. But, of course, for the universe, and not for a single planet ... And, therefore, we will meet again "(from the article by Sergei Medvedev).

At the closed celebration of his seventy-fifth birthday, the jubilee silently threw up a clenched fist - the symbolic salute of the Comintern, whose admirer he was in his youth and whose members long ago disappeared - who in the cellars of the Lubyanka, who are in the Kolyma camps. Many interpreted this gesture as a symbol of Bartini's devotion to communism. We are inclined to think that this was a gesture of the winner, which could not be destroyed, having been sealed in a stuffy zinc box of oblivion. Roberto Bartini - the Italian baron and one of the fathers of Russian aviation - as all the visionaries knew and his distant future. He foresaw that his ideas, giving millions of people the joy of flying, would lift them above the stuffy and terrible reality as invincible and simple as the human soul, which has wings, flies over the impotence of the most terrible circumstances.

In an article published after the death of Bartini in one of the messengers were the words: "It was an amazingly modest toiler. His work would be enough to award him the highest academic degree ".

The second volume of the ufological "Encyclopedia of the Unknown" characterizes this person as an alien controlling the technical development of human civilization ... Not so long ago the name Bartini was appropriated to one of the minor planets of the solar system.

May 14, 1997, the day of the 100th anniversary of his birth, in the foyer of the design bureau, which he supervised, there was a memorial plaque R. Bartini.

In the same year, the vertically taking off amphibian VVA-14 - one of the last works of the designer - was cut for scrap metal in Taganrog ... The editors of the site are not responsible for the content of blogs. The editorial opinion may differ from the author's.
