In Krasnogorovka, Donetsk region, a 16-year-old girl died of meningitis.
This was reported on his Facebook page by the head of the Donetsk Regional Military Civil Administration Pavel Zhebrivsky.
"In Krasnogorovka, a 16-year-old girl Valeria died of staphylococcal meningitis. In the evening of June 24, her fever rose, in the morning she was taken to the hospital in Kurakhovo, and from there at 16:30 - to Slavyansk. Doctors fought for her life, but unfortunately, on the night of June 26 she died, "said Zhebrivsky.
According to him, since the disease can be transmitted by airborne droplets, on June 26 in Krasnogorov 70 people were examined, who contacted the deceased.
"Among the surveyed, 10 were found with fever, six of them were hospitalized, four from hospitalization refused - they were prescribed medication and sent home, as they are not allowed to keep them in the hospital. In all examined, they took the necessary tests, tomorrow there should be results, "the head of administration.
He specified that additional brigades of physicians will be sent to Krasnogorovka.
"We need to examine people and identify where the infection came from.
Local doctors and authorities reject the option of so-called domestic contamination: the girl was brought up in a full-fledged family, where all the necessary sanitary standards are observed. It is assumed that the infection was received by Valery by airborne droplets, "summarized Zhebrivsky.
As reported by the "Observer", earlier the Ministry of Health warned Ukrainians about a dangerous disease.
