In the Zaporozhye region in the decommunization of the monument to the Soviet leader Vladimir Lenin decided not to demolish, but to turn into a monument to Pilip Orlik.
This is reported in the plot of the TV channel "Ukraine".
In Novoalekseevka, Zaporozhye region, a local sculptor decided to make Lenin "plastic surgery".
Now in place of the monument to Lenin there is a monument to Pilip Orlik - the author of the first Constitution of Ukraine.
Head of the village council Sergei Dubovik said that the reconstruction of the pedestal was much cheaper than demolishing: two monuments were spent only 7 thousand. UAH, and dismantling, exporting and storing the monument would be much more expensive.
