A catastrophic situation: the Ministry of Health announced terrible data on botulism in Ukraine

Over the past three months 62 cases of botulism have been registered in Ukraine, 9 of them with fatal outcome.

This was during a press conference, Deputy Minister of Health Oksana Sivak, reported 112. Ua.

According to her, this is a catastrophic situation, besides, at the moment there is a "superproblem" with serum against this disease.

Sivak recalled that last year 105 cases of botulism were detected, of which 12 were fatal.

As reported by the "Observer", previously the media reported four victims of botulism.



At the end of May in Kiev, three people were poisoned by fish, which they bought in a supermarket, one of them died. Also, cases of poisoning by fish were recorded in Vinnitsa region. Later, a 57-year-old man from the town of Gorishni Plavni of the Poltava region became a victim of botulism.

In the capital, a temporary ban on the sale of fish products was introduced. In the Kirovograd region Znamenskaya local prosecutor's office started a pre-trial investigation into the outbreak of botulism in Ukraine.
