Ural Federal University has made a breakthrough in the leading ranking of universities in the world - QS World University Rankings. As the rector of the university Victor Koksharov said, among 26 thousand universities UrFU rose to 150 positions, and now occupies 491 place in the world.

"Ratings, of course, are not an end in themselves for us, but they help to see the result of our work," comments Viktor Koksharov. - We demonstrated growth in almost all indicators, which are the overall growth of the QS rating. Compilers note the growth in reputation indicators, in particular - in reputation among employers: more and more Russian and international experts appreciate our activities in the field of science and student training ".

One of the main indicators of the rating is the number of foreign students. Children from 86 countries are studying in UrFU. UrFU has risen seriously in the rating of Russian universities: from 17 to 13 places. On academic reputation the university became the eighth in the country, and by the number of foreign teachers - the sixth.

Also Victor Koksharov told about a set of freshmen in 2017.

"The online recording is already open, and from June 20 we will accept the USE certificates. This year we plan to accept 10 thousand students, 6,235 of them - to budget places, "continues Viktor Koksharov.

Recall UrFU is a participant in the 5-100 project, the key result of which should be the emergence in Russia by 2020 of modern university-leaders with an effective governance structure and an international academic reputation capable of setting trends in the development of world higher education.
