Visa-free regime: at first Ukrainian border guards will be assisted by European colleagues

On the night of 10 to 11 June, citizens of Ukraine will begin to cross the border in a visa-free regime with European countries. Ukrainians, who have biometric passports, the staff of the State Border Guard Service expect at all border checkpoints on the border with the EU and at airports where flights will be sent to European countries.

The border service informed that on the eve of the entry into force of the procedure for travel without visas, the State Border Service of Ukraine initiated an initiative with the European Agency for Border and Coast Guard FRONTEX. In particular, the Ukrainian border guards initiated the expansion of the geography of joint operations and attraction of Agency experts and their stay at checkpoints in the territory of Ukraine.

"Foreign experts will provide comprehensive advice to both border guards and Ukrainians to take all necessary measures to reduce possible refusals to Ukrainian citizens when crossing the border with EU member states," the SBS said..

FRONTEX has already confirmed its consent to such a proposal and sends a number of its experts to the Ukrainian checkpoints.



"So, during the period from 10 to 22 June representatives of the State Border Service together with representatives of FRONTEX will take part in joint events within the framework of liberalization of the visa regime. Representatives of countries such as the Czech Republic, France, Poland, the Netherlands, Estonia, Slovakia, Italy, Slovenia and Lithuania. Experts from these countries will be present at the checkpoints of both the aviation message - Boryspil, Zhulyany, Odessa, Lviv, and at the Tisa, Luzhanka, Uzhgorod, Yagodin automobile checkpoints , "Krakovets", "Rava-Russkaya" and "Porubne".
