Secretary-General of the World Conference "Religions for Peace" William Vendley will visit Kiev at the invitation of the People's Deputy of Ukraine, the founder of the Institute of Human Rights and Prevention of Extremism and Xenophobia of Alexander Feldman.
This was reported by Alexander Feldman after a meeting with William Vendley in New York, where the Ukrainian politician was on a working trip.
According to Alexander Feldman, the discussion of Mr. Wendley's visit to Ukraine was one of the topics of the meeting. Public figures discussed the problems of interreligious relations that exist in the modern world and ways to build a peaceful and tolerant interreligious dialogue.
"The work of Mr. William in building a tolerant and peaceful society can not be overestimated. I am convinced that his visit to our country will contribute to the establishment of inter-confessional dialogue between representatives of all religions that coexist in Ukraine, "said Alexander Feldman.
According to the people's deputy, it was preliminary agreed that Mr. Vendli will visit Ukraine in October-November this year.
Recall, "Religions for Peace" - the largest international religious pacifist organization, headquartered in New York. Has a consultative status with UNESCO, UNICEF and the UN Economic and Social Council. Includes the most influential figures of mass religions from 92 countries of the world.
William Wendley is the Secretary General of the organization since 1994.
