I have always been interested in the hymns of the countries I visited. There are many paradoxical things there. For example, Turkey wanted in the EU, but in its hymn it is sung about the monster of Europe with all the consequences :-))) In the hymn of Ireland the singer calls for the death of the Saxons, that is, the English. In the hymn of Italy it is sung about the evil Austrian eagle, who, along with KAZAKAI (Ukrainian or what?), Drank the blood of Italians and Poles and was tired.
In the hymn of Vietnam (the first version, now changed) brought an oath to rip off the skin of the enemies and drink their blood. In the Polish Dombrowski March (hymn) praise Bonaparte, who gave an example.
And, incidentally, very few people know that in the original text "Shche did not die Ukrainians" of Chubinsky, published in Lviv in 1863, there were the words: "Oh, Bogdane, Bogdane! Glorious ottoman!" Nashcho selling Ukraine moskalyam poganim. Well, about the territorial claims to the Polish Xiang and the Russian Don (from Syanu to the Don) everyone knows.
Do you remember how the optimistic hymn of Ukraine began before 1991?.
"Live Ukraine is beautiful and strong!".
In the anthem of France in general it is proposed to impregnate the fields with the unclean blood of their own compatriots - the French, the supporters of General Bouyet. In the hymn of the Netherlands, who got rid of Spanish rule and achieved independence, it is sung that Wilhelm van Nassau is loyal to the King of Spain. The hymn of Albania is generally better to quote: "The Lord Himself said there will be no nations on Earth, but Albania will be forever.
Miracles: there will be no nations, but only Albania.
The hymn of Japan about the emperor is very brief:.
"Let your kingdom last a thousand, eight thousand knees until the moss adorns the rocks that grew out of the rubble".
Miracles. I always thought that the rubble made of rocks, and the Japanese on the contrary :-))))) Paradoxes. The Turks are happy to work in Germany, but sing about the monster of Europe; Italians are friends with the Austrians, but they sing about the Austrian eagle, who, along with the Cossacks, drinks the blood of Italians and Poles; Irish call for the death of the Saxons.
Maybe it's worth making some changes to some hymns, like the Vietnamese did? After all, now their children, singing a hymn, do not swear to skin off their enemies and drink their blood :
-)))). And the Poles removed the evil words about the Germans from their anthem: "The German, the Muscovite will not sit.
PY. Sy. But the song about the Motherland (bilyady - my homeland) should not be translated. It should be listened to in the original :-))) (anthem of Egypt - Red. ) The site is not responsible for the content of blogs. The editorial opinion may differ from the author's.
