Ivan Maslyuk along with his friends from g. Sosnovka Lviv region conquered the highest point in Ukraine - Mount Hoverla. Because the boy has cerebral palsy, he did it with the help of a special wheelchair La Joelette. About this LB. Ua told one of the participants of the initiative - Alexander Lutsik,.
"When we traveled to France, we met with an organization that helps people with disabilities to actively spend time on special carriages. For us it was an epiphany. And we decided to do the same in Ukraine. It seems unfair to us that people with disabilities in Ukraine are shut out in special boarding schools, parents are embarrassed by their children, and they do not perceive or fear them in society, "said Lutsik.
The first trip to Hoverla was attended by 7 people, 5 of whom helped carry a stroller with Ivan Masluk. The next trip is planned in a couple of weeks. In the summer, the team will carry out more than 10 trips to the mountains.
Not only people with disabilities will be necessarily among the travelers: the project was conceived as inclusive.
"It is not necessary to wait for our next trip. If a team is formed that wants to add a person with a disability to the trip, we are ready to give them a special stroller. Engineers thought it almost perfect: there are special shock absorbers, headrests, the possibility of several people to raise it. We want it to serve for active trips to those who need it, "said Alexander Lutsik.
