Lutsenko assured that the GPU has important evidence in the Gongadze case

The case is not yet complete, but the prosecutor's office has important evidence that not everyone will like, but they are. On Thursday, May 25, on the air of one of the Ukrainian television channels, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko.

He also assured that he plans to complete the investigation within six months.



Recall Pechersk District Court of Kiev on January 29, 2013 announced the verdict to the former head of the Department for External Monitoring of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Alexei Pukach, accused of the murder of journalist Georgy Gongadze. Pukach was sentenced to life imprisonment with confiscation of property and a ban on holding public office.

As reported URA-Inform, Georgy Gongadze, the editor-in-chief of the Internet publication "Ukrainian Truth" disappeared under unclear circumstances on September 16, 2000. Two months after his disappearance, a body of a man was found not far from Kiev, presumably Gongadze. The case has not yet been solved.
