On Tuesday, May 23, the police of Zhytomyr region detained a colleague. The police colonel received from the wards money ostensibly for service needs, but in fact lays them in his pocket.

As the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine informs, the deputy head of the Khmelnitsky regional department of the National Police has been informed of suspicion. The detainee, using his official position, "insistently recommended" that his clients replenish the bank card, allegedly for filming television reports about the activities of the local police.

Thus, the officer received from five to ten thousand hryvnia, which was taken directly to the bank's offices, through terminals and online mode.

Against the detainee opened a criminal case under articles on fraud and possession of property through abuse of office.

Now the colonel is threatened with punishment in the form of restriction of freedom for a period of three to five years or imprisonment for a period of three to eight years, with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years, "the Prosecutor General's Office.
