The 29-year-old Yermolovich pleaded guilty to three counts: conspiracy to commit electronic fraud, collusion with the goal of hacking computers and embezzling personal data with aggravating circumstances, reports forumdaily. Com Ermolovich was a member of a group of hackers who obtained unauthorized access to data from a number of large companies and abducted their statements to the press prior to the official publication. Based on the information provided in these documents, they made transactions for the sale and purchase of securities. The suspects kidnapped more than 150,000 press releases, as a result of which they managed to earn about $ 100 million in securities transactions.
The five immediate accomplices of Yermolovich were citizens of Ukraine Ivan Turchynov, Alexander Eremenko and Pavel Dubova, as well as residents of Georgia Arkady Dubova and Igor Dubova.
In total, more than 40 hackers and traders pass through this case, who hacked the services of PRNewswire and Business Wire agencies. According to the prosecutor's office, the cybercriminals used stolen data for 5 years, which were passed on to traders through accomplices in Ukraine, Malta and Cyprus.
Ermolovich was arrested in November 2014. The prosecutor's office demanded 20 years in prison for him.
