In the period from 23 to 26 May this year the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine may consider one of the "church" bills that caused a wide resonance in the society - №4128.

This "Observer" was told by the People's Deputy of Ukraine (the "People's Front" faction), the president of the Ukrainian Association for Religious Freedom Viktor Yelensky.

People's Deputy, who participated in the meeting of the Conciliation Council of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, said: "From the Committee on Culture and Spirituality, we proposed to consider two bills: on cultural heritage and" church "- No. 4128". He added: the issue will be considered at a meeting of the factions. Will the bill get on the agenda, it will be known "closer to the morning".

"My forecast is half-hearted, because there is no special bloc on culture and spirituality," Yelensky added.. He also said that the second "church" bill - No. 4511 - "we will discuss".

Speaking about bill No. 4128, authored by Yelensky himself, he remarked: "The project provokes resistance only among those who did not read it. In serious people, it causes not just optimism, but also some enthusiasm ".

In this context, the People's Deputy reported that a number of Russian theologians highly appreciated this legislative initiative. "They believe that this is the way to not fictitious, but to the creative participation of parishioners in the life of the religious community and to the renewal of the church as such. The same Kuraev said that the church in Ukraine is moving towards traditional democracy ".

At the same time, Elensky said that when he communicated with believers who protested under the walls of the Verkhovna Rada, he found that none of them had read the document. "The fact that the grandmothers did not read - this is understandable.

But did not read this bill and the priests who were in their head, and even the bishop. Just people were told that they would close the temples, they would all be kicked out ".

But "there are no signs of discrimination in the draft law. Moreover - they receive not just all the benefits, but the land and so on, "- assured Yelensky.

As the "Observer" wrote, Viktor Yelensky explained earlier what is the essence of the bill №4128.
