Under the conditions of visa-free regime for crossing the border with the EU member states, Ukrainians will only need to have a biometric passport and confirmation of the purpose of the trip.

On the territory of the EU, Ukrainians will be able to stay up to 90 days within six months, exceptions - work and study in the EU, which, as before, will need a visa.

Where should I go and what documents are needed for issuing a biometric passport?.

Where? The biometric document can be issued in any subdivision of the Migration Service that performs the registration of the passport of a citizen of Ukraine for traveling abroad, without reference to the place of registration or residence. If you wish, you can register at the reception on the portal of state services www. Igov. Org. Ua, and also to issue the document through the state enterprise "Document".

How? For registration of the document it is necessary to have with itself the passport of the citizen of Ukraine and the identification code, and for children - the birth certificate. In addition, for those who draw up a foreign document not for the first time, it is necessary to have a previously issued foreign passport or travel document of the child. To migrants from the ATU and Crimea area, the Migration Service advises to provide additional documents with a photo (for example, a driver's license, a military card, a pension certificate, a work permit, and so on. On the spot you should write an application for a passport, take a picture and go through fingerprinting (fingerprinting). Children under 12 receive a biometric document without fingerprints.

Before issuing a passport, you must also pay a consular fee (the cost of services and forms).

How many? According to the Migration Service, the registration of a foreign passport within 20 working days costs 557.32 UAH. For the accelerated procedure it is necessary to pay more - 810,32 UAH for registration within 7 working days. Please note that we are talking about workers, not calendar days.

At the same time, the "Document" service offers the design of a biometric passport for 957.32 UAH within 20 working days and for 1210.32 UAH within 7 working days.

The passport of a citizen of Ukraine for traveling abroad is issued to children for 4 years, and citizens over 16 years - for a period of 10 years.

Recall that the biometric passport is not externally different from the usual and also has the shape of a little booklet. The only visible difference is the mark on the cover.

The essential difference is the electronic chip embedded in the cover, containing information about the owner (passport data, face image, electronic signature and fingerprints).
