In Ishim, the Tyumen region, it was hoped that the water level in the river would not rise so quickly and the flood would not be as strong as in 2016, when water flooded 1,376 holiday homes in horticultural societies. Until May 4, the water level rose by 20-40 centimeters per day. However, on May 4, for one day the water rose by 88 centimeters, Kazakhstan increased water discharge. There flood flooded 4 areas. And the level continued to grow.
On May 5, an emergency situation was declared in the region. The water level was 844 centimeters. It became clear that after the rise of water by another 10 centimeters, it would rush through the dam and flood the lands of 22 horticultural societies and the city streets located by the river. All gardeners were warned of the threat of flooding. Especially it concerned families that are permanently residing in dachas, they were advised to immediately move to their relatives. There was limited travel of equipment in the territory falling into the flood zone. Energy specialists prepared to cut off power supply in horticultural societies. The regional hospital №4 was prepared for work in conditions of emergencies: medical teams were formed, a stock of vaccines and bacteriophages was created,. Combating floods involved about 200 people. Dams were being built up, temporary accommodation points for people were prepared in case of evacuation.
As of May 6, the water level in the river was 894 centimeters. Submerged were the SO "Kommunalnik-1", "Zarechye", "Kommunalnik-2". The works on strengthening flood control dams continued. During the night, dams were reinforced around the land of the Ishimselmash, Bytovik, Keramik, stacked more than 1000 sacks of sand. The dam is being reinforced near the "Motorist". Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and more than a hundred people from eight enterprises of the city are involved in anti-flood works. A pedestrian bridge is being cleared through Ishim in the Kiselevka area. Here, 25 people clean the channel by hand, they are helped by 5 units of equipment. Overnight, the congestion was reduced by half, the capacity of the reservoir increased.

Despite all efforts, by the evening of May 7, 3474 country houses and 28 dwellings were flooded in Ishim. In addition, 674 holiday homes and 65 houses were flooded in the Ishim district.
Of the 305 evacuated, most were placed with relatives, but 59 people went to temporary accommodation centers. They are provided with hot food and medical assistance. Now in the area are deployed 13 TACs, ready to receive 2,084 people. With the consequences of flooding, 549 people and 163 units of equipment compete, including 42 boats.
