In Moscow today, May 6, an action of the opposition takes place on Sakharov Avenue timed to coincide with the fifth anniversary of protests on Bolotnaya Square. The rally is scheduled for 13:00 Moscow time, it is expected that it will last two hours. The action is coordinated with the authorities, the claimed strength is 10 thousand people.
The share came no more than three thousand people. At the rally, many nationalist flags, people also came with portraits of the figurants of the "swamp business". Participants of the rally demand to release political prisoners, people came wearing black clothes with the inscription "Corruption", there are slogans against homophobia in Chechnya.
"By order of a man in civilian clothes police removed the backdrop from the scene, which is actually mounted for a rally, which at one o'clock in the afternoon opens on Sakharov Avenue. On the backside it was written "Enough Putin, enough obscurantism, enough war, enough lies, enough to tolerate Kadyrov," - said one of the organizers of the rally, Alexander Ryklin. According to him, the police also removed the banner with the inscription "The Swamp Case is a shame of Russia". Ryklin added that the rally will be held for the first time on an empty stage and called it "an unprecedented history".
The actions were made by former deputy Gennady Gudkov, as well as human rights activists Sergei Sharov-Delone and Zoya Svetova.
Earlier, a group of oppositionists filed an application to the Moscow authorities to conduct a procession from October to Bolotnaya Square, but this route was not coordinated.
The regional security department explained its decision by preparing for the Victory Parade on Red Square. The authorities offered to hold a rally near the Oktyabrskoye Pole metro station or Lyublino, but later agreed on a rally on Sakharov Avenue.
