Sverdlovsk Region in the race. Moreover, in the literal sense. Sharp warming and dry weather led to an increase in the number of forest fires. In this regard, today the Minister of Public Security of the region Alexander Kudryavtsev held a meeting of the Commission for the Prevention and Elimination of Emergencies and Fire Safety.

According to the ministry, while the situation with natural fires in the region remains tense. Compared with the figures for the same period last year, this year the number of forest fires increased by 5 times. The area of ??fires increased by 7.5 times.

"The dry summer of last year, the absence of floods and rains this spring and the steady warm weather have played a role in increasing the number of fires. Since the beginning of the fire-dangerous period, 232 fires have been recorded on a total area of ??more than 2.8 thousand hectares. Of these, the main quantity is on the lands of the forest fund. The most serious situation is in the eastern and southern regions of the region. At the same time, there was no reason to enter an emergency situation. As the fire hazard class increases, special fire prevention regimes are introduced in the territories. At present, such a regime has been introduced in 16 municipalities. For the extinguishing of fires, a link was taken from the Krasnoyarsk Aviation Rescue Center, and in the event of an emergency, a Be-200 aircraft will be delivered, "said Deputy Forestry Department Vladimir Berezhnov.

In addition to attracting forces from other regions of the Russian Federation, the ISB redeployed the fire protection forces within the region. In particular, the forces of the fire-chemical stations from Karpinsk and Kushva were transferred to the burning south and east of the region, as well as aviation forces from Ivdel, Serov and Sosva.

Kudryavtsev noted that all measures for the transfer of forces should be held until tomorrow. He demanded that dispatching services monitor the situation in the forests hourly, and the heads of municipalities did not hesitate to ask for help to fight the fire in order to try to eliminate fires on the first day, and especially not to allow them to spread to human settlements. "The situation is complicated, but manageable," Kudryavtsev stressed..

Separately, the meeting participants touched upon the work with the population. So, the Ministry of Emergency Situations intensified the work of patrol and maneuvering groups that catch infringers, inciting in the forests fires and setting fire to the grass in the kitchen gardens. Since the beginning of the fire dangerous period, 120 Sverdlovsk citizens have already received fines. Preparing for the fire season and coordinated work of agencies allows eliminating 90% of fires on the day of detection, 99% of fires are eliminated in the first day.

Authorities and rescuers have high hopes for the heavenly office - according to weather forecasters, the warm and dry weather will end soon, it will be replaced by cold and rain, and in the north of the region, sleet. This should help stabilize the situation with fires.

Recall, in March, Governor Yevgeny Kuyvashev with his decree approved a consolidated plan to extinguish forest fires. It regulates the order of interaction between state authorities and local self-government depending on the level of fire danger and the number of forest fires.

All preventive measures in the forest are recorded in the document, all forest roads are taken into account, for which the delivery of forces is possible to combat the elements, air patrol routes are designated, operational monitoring of the forest fire situation is stipulated, and maneuvering by means of extinguishing forces and means is agreed.

This year the regional budget increased the amount of funding for the protection of the Ural forests from fires by almost a third and allocated more than 133 million rubles. In total, more than 200 million rubles will be allocated to this work in 2017.
