Early in the morning, the Holy Dormition Odessa Monastery hosted a memorial service in memory of the victims of the Odessa tragedy. The funeral service was conducted by His Eminence Agafangel, Metropolitan of Odessa and Izmail.

The funeral was attended by people's deputies Yuri Boyko, Vadim Novinsky, Nikolai Skorik, representatives of Odessa oppositionists, relatives of the victims on May 2, among them the wife of the deputy of the Odessa regional council Vyacheslav Markin, and the mother of the dead Neonila Berezovskaya and Alena Bryagar.
"This tragedy has no statute of limitations. To date, our Ukrainian law enforcement agencies do not conduct an investigation at all. There is a tightening and blocking of this process. We supported the claim to the European Court of Human Rights and he accepted this claim for consideration. We will ensure that the investigation is as soon as possible. Such tragedies and crimes do not have a statute of limitations, and sooner or later the guilty will be punished, "said Yuriy Boyko.
As Vadim Novinsky noted: "We know that provocations were prepared against us on that day, so we did not go to the Kulikovo field, but took part in the requiem and visited the graves of those killed".
"We remember the dead innocently killed people not only today, but 365 days a year. We remember them, we pray for them, and we try, together with our relatives, to overcome the consequences of this terrible tragedy, when the evil human will did so that people died innocently. And this evil human will must be punished. We will finish this business to the end. This is not for those who died. This is necessary for us to live so that later in Ukraine such tragedies never recur, "- said Novinsky.
For Nikolai Skoryk, the Odessa tragedy is also a personal tragedy. On that day his friend and comrade, a deputy of the Odessa regional council Vyacheslav Markin, died.

Oppositionist leader Boyko instructed Odessa deputies to visit the graves of the deceased and meet relatives of the victims of the May 2 tragedy. He also stressed that the "Opposition bloc" will do everything possible to make the memory of those killed on Kulikovo field perpetuate in Odessa.
"When the authorities blocked the installation of the monument on the Kulikovo field, and in general it was a wild situation, we insisted that at least a memorial sign. That people could not come to the fence that protects this terrible building. But this decision was also blocked by the Odessa authorities. We decided that all the deputies of the regional council, Verkhovna Rada deputies with the relatives of the deceased will go all the graves, lay flowers, pay tribute to the dead, "said Boyko.
Before the moleben, representatives of the "Opposition Bloc" visited the grave of Vyacheslav Markin, a member of the Odessa Regional Council, who died as a result of a fire at the House of Trade Unions. It was his one and a half years after the real investigation into the tragedy that the regional prosecutor's office posthumously accused the organization of the Odessa tragedy.
