In Ukraine, 92% of citizens call themselves ethnic Ukrainians, and only 6% of citizens consider themselves to be ethnic Russians.
This is reported by "24 channel" with reference to the data of a poll conducted by the sociological service of the Razumkov Center.
According to the results of the survey, another 1.5% of Ukrainians identified themselves with other ethnic groups.
Most Ukrainians who consider themselves Russians are in the Donbass, where 28% of respondents hold such an opinion. The least is in western Ukraine.
The Razumkov Center also found a trend according to which the share of respondents identifying themselves as ethnic Ukrainians is growing with the age of respondents.
In particular, among respondents aged 60 and over, 87% refer to themselves as Ukrainians, and at the age of 18 to 29 years - ethnic Ukrainians about 96%.
