This is reported by the newspaper Hurriyet, referring to the data of the monitoring organization Turkey Blocks.

As noted, access to "Wikipedia" was closed from about 8:00 local time.

In turn, the website of the Council for Information Technologies and Communications of Turkey said that the decision to close the online encyclopedia was taken as an "administrative measure".

Since the loss of access is stable because of Internet filters that are used to censor the content in the country.

Nevertheless, observers accuse the Turkish government that the blocking of Wikipedia took place without a proper court decision.

Recall, as previously reported, "URA-Inform", the highest election commission of Turkey on Wednesday, April 19, said that it will not cancel the results of the referendum, according to which the powers of the president of the country will be expanded.
