Cosmonaut Gennady Padalka, who left the cosmonaut detachment at the end of April, published an appeal in the Moskovsky Komsomolets calling for the dismissal of Yury Lonchakov, head of the Cosmonaut Training Center (CPC).

The appeal was published in response to a comment published by Lonchakov on the website of the TsKP in connection with the departure of several cosmonauts from the detachment, including Padalka. In the publication, the head of the Central Committee said that the center, contrary to media reports, does not fire the cosmonauts "completely", and explained their departure by a change of generations.

Padalka said that in Lonchakov's statement he was impressed by the "level of cynicism and the absence of any conscience".

According to the cosmonaut, Lonchakov contributed to the fact that Oleg Kotov, who had also left the detachment, was not appointed director of the department for manned space programs of Roskosmos.

Padalka also accused Lonchakov of desertion because he refused to head the crew on the ISS in 2013.

"He'd better tell about the crew he threw (or, more correctly, deserted) after his appointment for the flight. Head of Roskosmos Popovkin V. Was forced to seek an urgent replacement. The choice fell on me. I left then the management, which led, and went to the fifth flight ", - writes Padalka.
