Ua. - The project started recently, but the line of Mogilev approached, especially since this regional center near the eastern border this year "hit" 750 years.

Date in history and national character.

XVII century in the history of my country came out, so to speak, uneasy. 55 years out of 100 passed in various wars on the eastern border. The most destructive period - from 1655 to 1667 - the invasion of the army of the Kingdom of Russia with the support of the Cossacks. For 2 years, even Vilna, the capital of the state. In that war, by the way, the country lost more than 50% of the population (in the eastern regions more than 75%).

The words "It's time! It's time!" Are directly related to the destructive war and the fracture in it, after which the invaders went "for the curb".

So, Mogilev, 1661. Already 4 years under occupation. By the way, when the Russians occupied the city (the Magistrate passed it without a fight in exchange for the life of the garrison, which already numbered as many as 200 people), the king promised not to plunder the middle-class and free people and protect them from dashing people. Yes, that's the problem - the defenders with the king came. Well, those who in 355 years will be called green men. Then they were red - and the caftan and face of the face.

But one thing is words, the other is affairs. The warriors began to really strain the local residents - they threw boozes ungodly, did not pay for the wait, they liked to wring out the goods on the market. The magistrate tried to write complaints - they say, the contract was signed, it is necessary to execute. Useless.

Stressed also the problems of the exchange rate. Mogilev before the occupation was a rich trading city. The currency with foreigners was, of course, not gold (well, not so rich) - silver. And the Russian currency is traditionally wooden. Well, or copper. Here is a quotation from the petitioner archers to the tsar:.

"According to your decree, we are ordered to be at your service in Mogilev city, and your wages and subsistence allow us, with brass money, and in Mogilev, the burghers do not trade with copper money and take from us copper money for bread and for every grub and for clothes , And we from them, petty bourgeois, from such rebellion to the end we perish hungry death.

And then there was a misfortune - they sent Moscow priests who agreed with few Orthodox who lived in the city. Again the conflict, which ends with the fact that the priests plunder the Mogilev fraternal school. They closed the printing house, most of the books were taken out (those that could not be burned). The printers who were able to print books and school teachers were twisted and taken to the "enlightened state".

Seeing this, the residents of the free city begin to think. And there is a key difference in mentality here. If we compare with the Ukrainians, this is most clearly manifested in the reaction to grievances.

What will happen if you offend a Ukrainian? Goes to fight. At once! But if the offender says - "I'm sorry", but the table will cover - the Ukrainian will depart. A good nation.

Belarusians are not like that. Our people - petty Westerners in essence. You will offend the Belarusian, spit in the face -. But the line in the diary section "one must remember". Then you will smile, live next door. And wait for the moment. The moment will come - soak away fuck.

Philistines smile and plan a solution to the Moscow problem. The idea was to take advantage of the "red nose" of the garrison: to arrange a holiday and take everyone "warm".

For this, smiths make weapons. Massively threaded or lost flint, or even the whole musket. The work is boiling, there are many jobs: the garrison according to various estimates was from 2 to 7 thousand well-armed orcs.

Belarusians smile "defenders" and prepare fun for Shrovetide.

But the trouble is, on February 1, a couple of Russo-tourists, in their habit on the trading floor, decided to squeeze "bagels". But not as always - half, and all. And at the same time and popristastovat to attractive traders. Traders did not like this. Burgomist Yazep Leontovich also.

The burgomaster said one word "It's time!". Then he repeated, "It's time!". All understood everything. In short, 3 hours and the whole 7,000-man garrison was cut out. I repeat, not defeated. Belarusians did not set a goal to win the battle. They set the goal to kill the fuck: not to win the "glorious Cossack victory", and radically solve the "Moscow problem". Maybe not beautiful, dirty. But it's damn efficient. What did.

About 40 people have left the truth alive. And this, too, was the plan. Sorry, but digging 7 thousand graves in the frozen ground (February in the yard) is a pleasure below the average. The magistrate, moreover, must pay for such work. And money is a pity. So we decided to leave some orcs to work. When they completed the case they were sent back as encouragement. To the tsar, so they transferred "in Mogilev you are not welcome".

Do you think only this city has excelled? Ha! In the same year, the Moscow army began to retreat quickly. Strange, because the contingent of hourly green men exceeded the number of 80 thousand heads. And the ON could put up no more than 15-20 thousand army. But Moscow left, and the Russian language was enriched with the word "shish". Or "shishi". Which is still in the expression "no shisha".

What it is? And remember the expression "Belarusians - partisan nation". Shishi and there are partisans. Or ordinary Belarusians, or as Litvin. During the day, Russian poured vodka. In the evening they cut like pigs. But competently - they did not cut in the house (so as not to leave any traces), they took those who are more important or with whom it is possible to get on well with ones - carts and boyar children. The scale was such that some tsarist detachments for months did not see any salary or supplies of supplies. In short, all the shishas were taken away and when there was no shisha went rosso-tourist back home.

But let's return to the events in Mogilev. After the uprising, the Grand Duke of Lithuania, Jan Kazimierz Vaza, returned the city to Magdeburg law and presented a new coat of arms. Where are depicted the castle gate in which stands a knight with a two-handed sword of the executioner - a tribute of respect to the burgomaster who with such a sword crushed guests from the east like cabbage. Leontovichi became a noble family, only, with the name changed in honor of the ancestors' deed - Pora-Leontovichi.

On the spot where the invaders once buried (the local call it Kosternia), today there is a gas station with, as the natives of the city emphasize, a wonderful free toilet for visitors.

And what today?.

The question arises: can they forget everything, what kind of stories do children learn. Here we come to one more symbol.

Recently, already in modern Belarus, the building of the Town Hall was rebuilt according to sketches and drawings of the same year 1661. It is now the museum of the city of Mogilev. Exposure - another manifestation of the Belarusian mentality - why climb to the trouble, when you just need to prepare. There is a variant of the exposition description in Russian, there are in Belarusian, English, Polish. The Russian-language version is radically different from the rest, it caresses the ears and eyes of the Rusotouristo. Then you and the Polish-Russian war and fraternal Russia. And the insurrection is said in one line: "Having organized a conspiracy against the Russian voevoda, the nobility and the prosperous city elite exterminated the garrison of the streltsi and on February 2 (12) 1661 surrendered the town of Sapiega".

The actual exposure is slightly different. The description in English is very, very detailed. No, not about the massacre - there is nothing interesting. And how we planned, how we accumulated resources, engaged in logistics. Firewood was prepared to melt the earth - even orcs frosty earth could hardly be unearthed. Why take offense?.

And here we come to the strange manifestation of the "mysterious Russian soul" - the desire to take offense. Well, yes, the coin was released, in honor of the memorable date. So what? This is not even the state has done. You can take offense at the museum, the politics of education. But this is a story, the facts that, in particular, left a deep incision in the form of the word shish in Russian.

But a significant number of Belarusians, it seems, do not care about the insults of the Russian press - the coin went "with a bang".

Without conducting an active advertising campaign, the authors were forced to stop receiving orders for a souvenir a day after the release - they did not have time to process the applications, and the number of them exceeded the minted circulation. Also a fact, and also a story, albeit new.
