Women in Ukraine earn less than men, and less claim to leadership positions.

This was announced by director of development at Work. ua Sergei Marchenko at the press conference in Ukrinform.

"When we analyzed separately - and at Work. Ua now more than 1.8 million resumes of Ukrainians - it turned out that women are more educated, 48% of women have higher education, and 2% less for men - 46%. However, in leadership positions often claim the men - 60% of men vs. 40% women, "- said Marchenko.

At the same time, he noted that in many ways women are to blame for the fact that earn less.

"Unfortunately, not all women see themselves and their skills adequately and often ask for lower than for the same work men asked. Women are on average 27% less than the asking than men, that is, more than a quarter, "- said Marchenko. In the list of popular posts, where women earn less than men: among sales managers - 26% less, the director - to 37%, department heads - 30%, accountants - by 20%, even cashiers, women somehow earn less - 16.7%, the designers - 24%, programmers - by 41%, etc..

There are professions in which men earn much more than women. It obstetricians men that earn almost three times more - 182% difference; more than twice the salary for men - fitness trainers, sorters; women receive less - marketing managers, animation staff, senior managers, surveyors, mechanical engineers, builders.

"But there is a profession where women earn more than men. And in the first place - a woman - aides deputies, who are asking 84% more earnings than men. Also in the top - crane operators, au pairs, assistant managers, cartographers, notary assistants, SEO-optimizer, SMM-specialist, category manager, head of the pharmacy, "- said the representative Work. ua.

He informed that women in Ukraine often claim to such senior positions as an administrator - about 24 thousand. , The head of the department - more than 4 300, HR-manager - about 4 thousand. , Director - about 3 200 and the head - about 1500. Also a lot of women in journalism - on 6th Editors vacancies - 967. Further, project managers, financial directors, supervisors, deputy directors.

Marchenko also noted that there is an easy way to get a higher wage: it is very important at the stage of your job search - and wages are determined at this stage, it is very rare in the course of work, it increases significantly - have more than one version of the job, but several.

"The examples of successful employment. which our customers say, suggest that financial success is most often achieved by those who do not have one, and 5-6, and more job offers. When the proposals for the more you can put their conditions to employers. And it is very difficult to set requirements, when you have one suggestion to you is elementary scary that you simply can not take this job. But if you are actively looking for a job, then a few weeks you will be invited to a dozen interviews. Among them will be 3-4 options from which to choose. This means that you can negotiate a higher wage than the one which counted. Employers often increase salaries. And the figure that stands in the place for which you have responded, very often not the final. I would recommend women use it "- advised Marchenko.

He added that, although the proportion of women in Ukraine suffer gender discrimination, only 14% of them are ready to fight against this phenomenon.

"The majority of respondents - nearly 40% - believe that gender discrimination is not widespread, they have not seen this in Ukraine. 15% experienced in hiring. In relations with the chief - 14%. In observance of the rights of pregnant women and working mothers - nearly 13%. Next in the ranking - discrimination in pay. Women earn significantly less than men, but only 8.6% think it is a serious manifestation of discrimination. In relations with colleagues discrimination experienced 6.5% of respondents, "- informed Marchenko.

At the same time, he said, according to the survey, half of the women the problem of combating discrimination do not care, they believe that this is normal. 19% believe that it is useless to fight. 13% said that they find it difficult to answer. 7% believe that they should be combined with co-workers and protect their rights. Another 7% say that they are ready to defend their rights at rallies, protests. So, unfortunately, only 14% of women are willing to take action to prevent manifestations of gender discrimination.

"Many women in Ukraine suffer gender inequality, but are afraid to ask questions about it.

Perhaps the results of the study will give them the information that they are not alone. If they have examples of gender discrimination at work, it will push them to fight for their rights. The fact that only 14% of women are willing to actively fight for their rights, on the one hand a positive and says that there are no big problems with gender discrimination in Ukraine. On the other hand, it indicates that there are so many people who are willing to speak out about their problems, "- said Marchenko.
