Just a few months ago, comedian Anton Lirnik tried to “whiten” his reputation in the eyes of Ukrainians and loudly declared his anti-Putin position, and now he decided to take part in the Russian New Year’s program. He became the host of a show on the YouTube channel "

It is worth noting that this media project embodies the continuation of the ideas and concept of the Ekho Moskvy radio station, which positioned itself as independent and oppositional. It was closed in 2022 by the Russian authorities.

Throughout the broadcast, which lasted just over five hours, viewers were shown slightly modified versions of once popular shows on Russian television, conversations between presenters in the studio or videos with addresses from invited guests.. Most of the New Year's edition was devoted to mentions of the USSR and some kind of exaltation of the culture of that time: films, music and traditions.

At some point, journalist Matvey Ganapolsky joined the presenters. The author’s words were somewhat out of the general picture of the project, because he noted that in Soviet times, Ukrainian culture was greatly suppressed, and our people were portrayed in a humiliating manner. However, this development of events was not long-lasting, because Ganapolsky actually ridiculed the Ukrainian folk song “Ti zh mene podmanula”, which tells about a young man and a girl who makes a date with him every day, but does not come.

“This chick left him seven times, and he still throws up his hands and says: “Where are you, my beautiful? What are you looking for this beautiful? She will take your house, steal your cow and lard. We all know this,” the journalist said.

It’s ironic that after this emotional speech the presenters sang this composition together. Lirnik and Ganapolsky sang quite confidently, because they speak Ukrainian, while their co-hosts from the Russian Federation performed only the first verses, and then just listened.

By the way, the comedian justified his appearance in the “cotton” project right on air.

Anton Lirnyk said that he came to the show because of an important goal - to encourage people to donate to the fund, which helps Ukrainian children who suffered due to a full-scale terrorist war. The comedian even emphasized that some of the children lost their parents, survived heavy shelling and a lot of terrible things, but this speech did not really hurt the emotions of the other presenters. They quickly changed the topic and began reading letters from the Russians.
