The young theater in Kyiv received a new leader. After a loud scandal and the resignation of Andrei Bilos, the position of director - the artistic director of the institution will be again occupied by Stanislav Moiseev.

The reason was the accusations of a long -term sexual harassment - former students and other women who worked with the director made the relevant statements.

The newly -known head of the theater, Stanislav Moiseev, is already familiar with the team and the specifics of the establishment. It was he who headed the young theater for 16 years-from 1996 to 2012. During this time, he managed to transform the repertoire of the theater, open a scene for modern Ukrainian drama and invite a number of famous directors from Ukraine and from abroad to cooperation. Among them are Dmitry Bogomazov, Igor Slavinsky, Bela Mer from Hungary, Christophe Fiotri from France and others.

A separate place in his creative biography is cooperation with Ukrainian writer Yuri Andrukhovich. The production of Moskoviads based on the novel of the same name received in 2006 the nomination for the prestigious theater award " There are more than 60 performances in Moiseev’s archive, the eminent director is known for combining classical drama with experimental approaches.

He is also an associate professor of the Department of Acting of the University of Karpenko-Kare, and in the 2010s he held the position of artistic director of the Ivan Franco National Academic Drama Theater. In 2014, theatrical critics recognized him one of the 10 most influential directors of Ukraine.

The appointment of Moiseev occurred against the background of the end of the investigation regarding the actions of the previous head of the theater. Recall that in January 2025, the former student publicly accused Andrei Belousa of sexual harassment. According to her, the teacher asked to send intimate photos and offered to share sexual fantasies. Subsequently, similar indications appeared from other former students.

The team of the young theater actively supported women, in particular, 46 workers signed a collective appeal to the Kyiv City State Administration with a demand to remove the bilos during the investigation. Activists held a public action near the theater building. However, despite the public pressure, officials first stated that they did not have a legal basis for dismissal - a court decision was needed. Only after the intervention of the special commission of Bilos was temporarily removed, but already on March 14 he returned to the position.

However, the initiative at the final completion of cooperation with the theater came from the director himself. He stated that he would not hold on to the position if his presence interferes with the normal work of the team.

This step, in his opinion, will contribute to the restoration of stability in the theater.

The young theater has already reported that the performances staged by Andrei Belous will remain in the poster only until the end of the current season. In the new season they will not be.

Also, shortly before the dismissal from the young theater, his workers publicly turned to the public - the audience of their performances. The team noted: despite the fact that the director’s criminal proceedings are ongoing, they see almost no progress.
