Elizabeth Banks accused Steven Spielberg of sexism

American actress Elizabeth Banks guilty before the director Steven Spielberg and the audience of the ceremony "Women in Film's Crystal + Lucy Awards". During a thank-you speech at the award ceremony, Banks stated that Spielberg had never made films with a woman in the lead role.

"I went through Indiana Jones and Jaws, and in general for every Steven Spielberg movie that he ever did, and yes, by the way, he never made a film with a woman in the lead role. I'm sorry, Stephen.. I was not going to call you a rascal, but it's true, "Banks said..



Fans tried to instruct Elizabeth "on the right path", reminding her of the famous film "Flowers of purple fields", shot by Spielberg. The main role in the picture was performed by Whoopi Goldberg.

After that, Banks had to publicly admit his wrong. In her Twitter account, the actress wrote a long text in which she apologized to Steven Spielberg and everyone who could be insulted by her comments from the rostrum at the ceremony.
