Soloist Metropolitan Opera, the phenomenon of Ukrainian culture Vladimir Grishko is now on tour in the Middle Kingdom, as the locals call their country, with the grandiose concert program "You are my melody", which is dedicated to the 75th birthday of Muslim Magomayev and will be presented in October in Kiev in Hall of the National Opera of Ukraine. The actor shared his impressions of the adventures that are taking place in China.
Hardly having arrived in this country, Vladimir Grishko was sincerely surprised when he learned that the songs of Muslim Magomayev are known and remembered by the older generation of Chinese, and many hits are translated into the local language. Seeing this excitement, the organizers of the tour confronted Grishko with a difficult task: to learn the language in order to sing songs at concerts in Chinese.
"An essential condition for my contract is basic knowledge - at the level of communication in Chinese with the public," says Grishko. - In English, almost no one is talking, so I work with local teachers, actively learn the language. The organizers were asked to sing several songs from the repertoire of Muslim Magomayev in Chinese. In turn, I suggested that the concert program also included well-known Ukrainian songs: "I Am marveling at the sky ...", "Chorny brow".
Maitre opera scene told many interesting things about his life in China. It turns out that on the outskirts of the city Vladimir Grishko goes to ... a moped.
"China - the champion of traffic jams, even New York in this regard is resting," says Vladimir. "A car is not an option, you can travel all day from one city to another, so I found a solution and bought a Japanese high-speed moped, now I drive between cars like millions of Chinese people".
Unusual for the artist was the local cuisine. "The food here is very peculiar and diverse, very often it is even impossible to translate the name into English: these are sea worms, someone's sea ears or saliva of wild birds. I prefer not to know what I eat, - Grishko admits. - I hope, I have not tried cockroaches and worms yet. But especially I want to mention the frogs, they are more delicious here than in Paris. The secret of their preparation was shared with me by the famous Chinese singer. Frogs can be bought in the usual supermarket or fish market, their cost is available to all Chinese. Also very easy to prepare lobster. In Kiev, I do not eat this - the price goes off scale, but here it is not more expensive than ordinary sea fish. At Easter, he cooked it, than pleased his Chinese and Belarusian guests ".
The main inconvenience of his stay in China tenor considers the hot climate: "All the year round here + 27-36 ° C and terrible humidity.
To transfer such weather is very difficult, even air conditioners that work everywhere, do not save, but so far I am holding ".
