EurekAlert talks about the results of a new study conducted at the University of Florida: the goal of scientists was to find out how the images of standard and plus-saz models in the media affect the psychological state of women. The study involved 49 young women who are not entirely satisfied with their body and want to lose weight. Researchers showed them photographs of conventional and plus-sais models, while recording in parallel the psychophysiological reactions of the subjects and asking them questions about the perception of their bodies. It turned out that the images of models with forms improve the emotional state of women:

looking at photographs of plus-sais models, the subjects compared themselves with them, while images of non-standard models were remembered more than others by the participants of the experiment. The authors of the experiment consider the result as a confirmation of the fact that the variety of beauty in media positively influences the psyche of women.
