Legendary Georgian actor, singer and director Vakhtang Kikabidze buried in Tbilisi.

Farewell took place for three days in the Kashveti Church on Rustaveli Avenue. Minister of Culture of Ukraine Oleksandr Tkachenko arrived in Tbilisi from Ukraine to lead the legend on his last journey. He read a speech from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

On his Facebook page, Tkachenko posted a post where he spoke about farewell to Vakhtang Konstantinovich:.

" Ukrainians are grateful to Vakhtang Kikabidze for his support in the fight against the Russian aggressor. The name of Vakhtang Kikabidze will be inscribed in the history of Ukraine as a great Georgian who contributed to the defense of the independence and sovereignty of Ukraine. We will always remember this and we will never forget it,"

At the same time, Tkachenko recalled that last year Kikabidze donated all the money from his anniversary concert in Batumi to help the Ukrainian army..

“I said on my own that when soldiers and rescuers, doctors and artists die in our country today during the Russian-Ukrainian war, they say:“ Heroes do not die.. This fully applies to Vakhtang Kikabidze. Heroes don't die," The Minister of Culture said that Ukraine also wants to thank the legendary actor for his support, therefore, plans to initiate the creation of a public garden and a Ukrainian-Georgian festival named after Vakhtang Kikabidze in Kyiv.

Vakhtang Konstantinovich was buried on January 19 at the Veriysky cemetery in Tbilisi next to the mother and wife of the actor, who died in 2021.

Recall that the legendary Vakhtang Kikabidze passed away on January 15, 2023. He was 84. The legendary Georgian actor loved Ukraine very much, often visited here with concerts. Supported us both before and after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
