In the middle of December, when the New Year mood is already everywhere, a multi-genre 3D show for the whole family “Winterra” will start at the Concert Hall of VDNG.. Legend kazkovogo edge ". The show is put at once by two professional production directors - Konstantin Tomilchenko and Alexander Bratkovsky.. Today we asked them about the team, the mission and the idea of ??the show, technical innovations and its emotional component..

Please tell us about the creative team you work with: how many people are involved at the site?.

Alexander: Now there are 21 artists working at the site - this is our permanent composition. We will duplicate some actors so that we have a safety net in case someone gets sick.. We also have a large technical team, which consists of workers of light, sound, graphics, decorators, stylists and other services.. And there is also a director's group, which includes choreographer-director Maxim Pekniy, the director of the stage, producers, Kostya and me..

How did the casting for the selection of actors? How did the artists from Cirque du Soleil get to you?.

Konstantin: I worked with the guys at Cirque du Soleil, so we quickly found a common language and agreed. The rest were selected at the castings, which lasted more than one week.. To participate in the show we were looking for versatile artists who sing well, dance, and even acrobatics perform. I am glad that we found young, but certainly talented and ambitious artists, in whom the whole team believes.

The shows you did earlier at VDNG were impressive with their large-scale decorations and costumes.. How many are you planning to use in the show “Winterra. Legend kazkovogo edge "?.

Alexander: I want to note that this year we have enlarged and expanded the scene, and this is very cool! As for the scenery, now they are still in the process of creation, and the scene is visually reincarnating every day. I specially climbed the farthest rows to make sure that the picture there is as spectacular and impressive as in the whole hall, and that each element of the scenery will be clearly visible. It is important for us that every viewer could “live” the story we prepared for him this year..

What is the most difficult in preparing such family shows as “Vartovi Mriy” and “Winterra. Legend kazkovogo edge "?.

Konstantin: It is important to maintain a balance in order to make the show equally interesting for both adults and children.. Children especially want to teach something good. We are creating a show that, in addition to entertaining history, is also aimed at strengthening moral values.. We also make a lot of efforts to please moms and dads and young people without children who will come to see the show.. As a matter of fact, we invite everyone!.

Today, children are very spoiled and, one might say, “gadgetised”. Do you think this show will impress them?.

Alexander: Yes, we live in the world of modern technology and most of the children are simply inseparable from gadgets.. We, in turn, go even one step ahead of these technologies and are the first in Ukraine to create high-tech shows of the new format.. Therefore, our shows are loved, they are visited, they are told about their relatives and friends.. And gadgets, I think, do not affect at all. Not a single gadget will immerse you in the New Year's atmosphere and fairy tale in the same way as this live performance, live play of actors, live emotions. After all, here you come to the hall and immerse yourself in a fairy tale, believe and feel.

Speaking of children, there are also small talents among the actors.. How is working with them?.

Konstantin: It is not easy with children, but it is very interesting. All children are different: someone grabs faster and understands better, someone harder. In any case, it’s a pleasure to work with everyone, they are talented. As our casting has shown, we have very few "many-sided" children, I'm not talking about adults. But we managed to find them, to direct their talents in the right direction, and very soon you will see all that they are capable of, on the stage of the show “Winterra. Legend kazkovogo edge ".

And what about the main characters of the show?.

Konstantin: Sasha is more difficult (approx. - The older brother in the story), with Egor easier (approx. - younger brother). We need an approach to Sasha, if he is found, he understands what you want from him and gives a good result. He needs help, and for this you need time and my patience as a director.

Are you a strict director, or are you still soft and patient?.

Konstantin: I am not strict, but exacting. I think professionalism is partly amateur. When you do your favorite thing, you spend as much time as possible on it, take it responsibly and eventually become a professional.. These are the people I want to see at all levels of the show.. Only then will the production be sincere, and the viewer will leave the hall full of happiness and pleasure..

A year ago, your show "Vartovi Mriy" went to the all-Ukrainian VR-tour. With the show "Winterra. Legend of the kazkov region ”are also planning to expand the geographical framework?.

Alexander: We, as production directors, really want this. Around the world, a completely normal practice when the show "lives" for several seasons. We would very much like to show at least “Winterra. The legend of the kazkov region "in other cities of Ukraine, and, as a maximum, - abroad. If necessary, we are ready to adapt the setting for different sites.. For example, in previous shows, both in “Vartovi Mriy”, and in “Dim Tamnichy Prigod” we used a complex structure - a turning circle, which in principle is difficult to transport. It requires specific site conditions.. And this year we immediately took into account this aspect and made the scenery as transportable and convenient for work in other halls as possible, not only in the Concert Hall VDNG.

A 3D show visit to VDNG has already become a good winter tradition for some families, parents bring children to each new show.. Reveal the secret of such interest to your winter plays?.

Konstantin: We have a baggage - two seasons of the show “House of the Tenant Fit” and three seasons of the War Mriy. People know about us, heard from friends or have been to our performances before, so they trust. They go to our show with confidence that it will be interesting.. And we are doing everything possible to ensure that our show unites more and more families around one good story..
