The leader of the Ocean Elsa group, Svyatoslav Vakarchuk, who previously admitted that he was not interested in the presidency, on the fifth anniversary of the Revolution of Dignity recalled the tragic events.

"Then here, on the Maidan, we all stood together as one, shoulder to shoulder. We were not scared neither by the cold, nor by the rubber truncheons, nor even by the bullets.. And today we are fighting each other on Facebook, while those whom we won then, wearing new masks, are trying to win positions, "wrote Vakarchuk on his Facebook page.

The singer added that he came to Maidan Nezalezhnosti to commemorate the dead.

Also Vakarchuk urged Ukrainians not to give up halfway.

"We have already learned how to help each other when the future demands it.. And we learn to distinguish between liars and opportunists from real ones.. When the time comes, the country knows how many of us. We have our say. It's only the beginning. And all will be well! "- assured Vakarchuk.

Recall that during a concert in August Vakarchuk dedicated a song to Oleg Sentsov and called for the release of Ukrainian political prisoners.
