After the French court ordered Closer magazine to pay moral compensation to the royal family in the amount of 53 thousand euros, the two main editors of the magazine filed an appeal.

The appeal of the staff of the journal was requested to reduce the large fines imposed on them for the decision to publish private photos of the Duchess of Cambridge, made in 2012.

However, according to the Yahoo website, the court rejected the appeal and upheld the maximum fines imposed last year by the lower court, which resulted in Closer being accused of invading the privacy of Prince William Kate's wife.

Let's note, we are talking about pictures on which Kate Middleton is depicted only in swimming trunks from a swimsuit with bare chest while on vacation with a prince in a castle in the Luberon region.

The pictures aroused indignation among the British public and the royal family, which filed a criminal complaint and received an injunction prohibiting the continued use of photographs.

Recall that Prince William and Kate Middleton demanded from the magazine 1.5 million euros for nude pictures of the duchess.
