The popular American actor, Oscar winner Sean Penn, whose son was recently arrested, spoke sharply about the movement against sexual harassment #MeToo.
The star criticized the movement, organized by women in Hollywood, reports The Rolling Stone.
"I think that this affects what is developing in terms of empowering women who recognized each other and were recognized by men. This movement, which was largely perceived as something depraved, "- said Penn.
According to the actor, #MeToo is largely supported by "sexually concerned" people, and also has an exploitative side.
"The essence of much of what the #MeToo movement is is the intention to separate men and women," said Sean Penn.
As the newspaper notes, Penn himself was not charged with sexual harassment. However, in 2015, the actor filed a lawsuit against director Lee Daniels, who stated that such charges could arise.
Recall the other day the wife of the director Woody Allen Sun-I Previn first spoke about the sex scandal around him.
