Relatives of the legendary singer Prince, who died of an overdose in April 2016, found a new culprit in his death.
As it became known that the cause of death of the artist was the use of a powerful analgesic fentanyl. Prince took it to ease the intolerable pain in the hip joint.
Now, according to the BBC, the singer's relatives sued his former doctor Michael Schulenberg, accusing him of incompetence.
"He could not properly examine, diagnose, cure and give Prince medical advice in connection with his pronounced dependence on opioids," the native singer said in a statement.
The relatives are sure that Schulenberg did nothing to save Prince's life.
"Such a departure from the standards of generally accepted medical practice greatly contributed to the death of Prince," says the lawsuit.
The doctor himself refutes all charges.
Earlier this year, the prosecutor's office began checking its activities for violations, but as it became known in April this year, law enforcement agencies did not have enough evidence to initiate criminal proceedings.
Recall that in April of this year, the musician's relatives sued the medical center in Illinois, where Prince was urgently hospitalized a week before his death. However, now the singer is going to withdraw this suit to concentrate forces on the fight against Schulenberg.
