The American Film Academy just during the live broadcast of the Oscar Award announced the winner in the nomination "Best Actress".
So, the honorary title was given to Francis McDormand. The cherished statuette actress was awarded for her role in the drama "Three billboards on the border of Ebbing, Missouri" directed by Martin McDonagh.
The film tells the story of a single mother Mildred Hayes, played by McDormand. The woman is trying to influence the police of her hometown, which is not too keen to uncover the murder of her teenage daughter, who was raped and killed seven months earlier.
For this, the woman rents three billboards located at the entrance to the city, and hangs out three posters with short inscriptions reminiscent of the murder of the girl and the inaction of the sheriff.
