American actress Uma Thurman said that she was the victim of repeated harassment by producer Harvey Weinstein. She also accused of betraying director Quentin Tarantino and admitted that she was raped when she was 16 years old.
This Uma Thurman told the edition of The New York Times, reports Medusa.
According to the actress, when she was 16 years old, she met an actor 20 years older than her. He raped her.
"I was extremely flexible then," she recalled.. - I tried to say "no", screamed, did everything I could. He said that the door is locked, and I did not even try to open it. After this, you become or even more compliant, or less. I became less, "- said Thurman.
As for Weinstein, at first the actress had business and friendly relations with him. He spent hours discussing her work with her and praising her. And when the producer first appeared before Uma in a dressing gown, it did not frighten her. "I thought he was so specific, something like a silly and eccentric relative".
However, later Weinstein attacked Uma Thurman and tried to rape him. It was in the room of the London hotel Savoy. The producer pushed Thurman onto the bed, tried to climb on it and bared, but she got out from under him "like a lizard".
According to the actress, the next day Weinstein sent her a huge bouquet of roses and praised for "excellent instincts". When he again tried to lure the actress into the room, Thurman threatened that if he tried to do this with someone else, she would tell about everything, and he would lose his career, reputation and family. In response, Weinstein threatened the actress to destroy her career.
Uma Thurman says she told about Quentin Tarantino before filming "Kill Bill". To this the director first joked: "Poor Harvey, he wants so much to have girls that he does not see". However, after Thurman's reminder, he spoke with Weinstein. He was surprised by the accusations; Thurman seemed to be ashamed.
During filming "Kill Bill" Tarantino demanded from Thurman that she sat behind the wheel of a cabriolet instead of a stuntman. The actress tried to refuse, since the car could not be fully operational, but the director insisted on his. As a result, there was a car accident, as a result of which Thurman was injured neck and knees and the actress was afraid that she would not be able to walk.
Later, the actress demanded from Weinstein's studio to give her a recording of a double, during which an accident occurred, but she was refused. Tarantino took the side of the film studio, so for several years, they were with Thurman "in a monstrous quarrel", although they had to appear together at events to promote films.
Only now the actress managed to get from Tarantino, so he gave her a record of that take;
she said she had handed over the evidence of the police accident she had collected. "When they took offense at me after the accident, I felt that I was no longer a colleague and not an artist, but a broken instrument," recalls the actress.
Recall that in November last year, American actress Uma Thurman walked through the film magnate Harvey Weinstein, who became the first person involved in sexual harassment. Uma did not regret the producer of the words and noted that he was even "not worthy of the bullet".
