The famous French actor Jean Reno will star in the thriller "The Last Step". The picture became a joint project of Ukraine and France.

The official Goskino Facebook page says that today, on January 26, the State Agency of Ukraine for Cinematography has signed a contract for the provision of the "The Last Step" picture to the state financial support of 21 million 630 thousand. UAH.

The total cost of production of the film is 73 million 877 thousand. 206 UAH.

The director and the author of the script was French Frederic Petitjan.

Operator-director of the picture is the three-time winner of the award "Cesar" French cameraman Thierry Arbogast.

In the story, Jean Reno plays an anonymous hired killer Henry, who enjoys a lonely retirement on the shore of a small remote lake in Canada. The girl at death, after a serious motorcycle accident, finds shelter in his chalet. The man who killed his life for the first time saves his life.

"The last step is a story on the verge of a psychological thriller and film-initiation, between yesterday's and today's, where each element is emphasized and intensified by a retrospective. This story brings to the scene Henry, the hero of several days, which are strangely intertwined with the help of hatred and charm, "- commented the film directed by Frederic Petitjan.

According to the chairman of the Goskino Philip Ilenko, attracting Jean Reno to the filming in the tape as a world-class star means "recognition of the Ukrainian film industry by the world professional community".

Filming will take place in the Carpathians (on Synevyr Lake), in Kiev, in New York and in Canada.
