"DzidzioContrabas" and "Nikita Kozhemyaka": Ukrainian film-pretenders for "Oscar" became known

The Ukrainian Oscar Committee has completed the reception of applications for participation in the selection of national films in the 90th anniversary Oscar in the nomination "Best film in a foreign language".

This year in the national selection will be attended by eight films.

"War of Chimeras", dir. Anastasia Starozhitskaya, Maria Starozhitskaya A story about the war, love and death, shot by its direct participants. Behind the scenes, and then in the frame, two - a guy and a girl. He volunteered, she went to where the war had just left. He got into Ilovaisky cauldron, lost his closest brethren, she, traveling through broken cities, tries to understand the essence of war and love. And they both tell each other frankly what they are experiencing during military operations, getting out of the boiler, trying to live together and a new, already joint trip to the forefront.

"DzidzioContrabas", dir. Oleg Borshchevsky If a trio of idiots decided to tackle an illegal affair - wait for the end of the world on a local scale.

They grew up on the border, so finding easy money, for them - is not a question. But when a beautiful girl appears on the way, all plans come kapets. Therefore, the roller coaster, in comparison with their adventures - is an easy rocking. But our heroes for the sake of dreams are ready for anything.

"Live", dir. Taras Khimich 1949. In the hard-to-reach areas of the Carpathians, the MGB detachment is hunting for the last surviving insurgents. Young girl Anna, fleeing persecution, gets to the rebel camp. There she meets a childhood friend of Niko. An unexpected round-up causes the insurgents to split into small divisions and escape. Niko takes Anna to the division of commander Dovbush.

A group of MGB soldiers led by Major and Lieutenant Alifanov pursues insurgents. Alifanov guessed that among the persecuted there is the same Anna, whom he several years ago interrogated. The thought of it does not give him rest.

"Nikita Kozhemyaka", dir. Manuk Depoyan The animated film "Nikita Kozhemyaka" continues the story of the famous hero Cyril Kozhemyaki who defeated the last Serpent; only his 12-year-old son Nikita, who does not possess the amazing physical strength of his father, became the protagonist of this story and only thanks to the strength of character he must defeat the Serpent and save peace. In the magical world, Nikita and his new friends will have to wait for many funny and dynamic adventures. This is an amazing fairy tale with a fascinating storyline and a happy ending, which tells about sincere feelings and friendship and that real heroism is not in physical strength but in the power of spirit.

"Black level", dir. Valentin Vasyanovich Loneliness lives in a big city. Kostya, a wedding photographer, also lives in it. On the threshold of the 50th anniversary the hero realizes that everything he loved and what he was attached to is gone forever. Although there are not so many things in his life: a father paralyzed after a stroke, a girlfriend - a wedding magazine stylist, an old cat, slides, on which he is young and happy. Kostya spends his life photographing someone else's happiness. For him, this is a routine routine.

"Broken head", dir. Marina Stepanskaya "Broken head" - this is the story of the irrational love of two small people during the big changes in the country.

Anton, a 27-year-old former child prodigy who could not cope with his hopes, returns home after years of training in Switzerland and five months in a psycho-neurological dispensary near Kiev, where he was treated for alcohol dependence. For these 5 months, we have "winter that changed us" 2013-14. Therefore, a new life means for Anton not only the absence of friends, old habits and the whole life of life - music, but also any rules by which one can fit into a new reality.

Katya - one of the thousands of girls who take microscopes in the stone jungles of the Troyeshchyna, two days later must go to Berlin with her boyfriend, a German photojournalist. A chance meeting between Katya and Anton changes everything.

"Red", dir. Zaza Buadze 1947. Warrior of the UPA Danilo Krasny falls into the terrible meat grinder of Stalin's camps, where he must pass through the hell and inhuman conditions of hard labor, the persecution of criminal leaders, meanness, betrayal and despair.

Daniel finds the strength to resist the repression of the camp commander and makes a desperate attempt to break free, raising the first uprising in the camp.

"Another's prayer", dir. Ahtem Seitablayev In the occupied by the fascists of Bakhchisaray, about twenty Jewish children hide from the punitive detachment in the kindergarten.

Having learned about this, the former kindergarten teacher, a young Crimean Tatar girl Saida, decides to help them. She collects food for them, prepares, heals, takes care of them in every possible way, although relations with children, and above all with their informal leader, 11-year-old Yitzhak,. Said deliberately takes a risk, because he knows that anyone who helps the Jews, is waiting for the death penalty.

Years pass, war is forgotten, Said is no longer alive.

But in different parts of the earth, from Israel to Sakhalin, there are people in whose hearts gratitude lives to this great Woman and her mother's heart.

Let's notice, that Ukraine officially can put forward on an award "Oscar" only one film. The ribbon will be chosen on August 29.

Recall that the jubilee, the 90th Oscar Awards Ceremony for Merit in the field of cinema for 2017 will be held on March 4, 2018 at the Dolby Theater, Hollywood, Los Angeles. The presenter of the ceremony is the second year in a row the comedian Jimmy Kimmel.
