Following the frozen Switzerland 15 million euros, which brought the National Standard on the guarantee of proper holding of Eurovision, another problem fell on Ukraine.
Thus, the head of the National Technical University Zurab Alasania on the page in Facebook said that Ukraine is waiting for the sanction from the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) in connection with the non-admission of Russian participant Yulia Samoilova to "Eurovision-2017".
"Morning started with not very pleasant news for RU: PBC. It seems that we are still waiting for sanctions because of "failure to ensure the participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 of the participant from the Russian Federation Yulia Samoilova". And I have a big doubt that the state in the person of the SBU will want to share this conflict with RU: PBC, "Alasania wrote.
In a comment to the journalist TSN Alasania explained that it was a fine of 200 thousand euros.
"This means that we will be fined. Monetary sanctions. The amount of the fine is 200 thousand euros. They told me that there will be an official statement from the EBU. They accuse us of the fact that the SBU did not let Samoilov, but I remind you that the National Technical University did not take this decision, "Alasania said..
According to the Chairman of the National Technical University, the EBU believes that these funds are "the best fine" than if Ukraine were banned from participating in Eurovision for 2 to 3 years.
"For EBU this is a very balanced decision. Because they believe that they could have banned participation in Eurovision for 2-3 years in Ukraine,. But in their opinion, this decision is worse than a monetary fine, "- added the chairman of the National Technical University.
Alasania also noted that the European Broadcasting Union owes Ukraine money, which is a sponsor's sum. The Chairman of the National Technical University stressed that this debt is more than a fine that they want to recover from Ukraine.
"EBU for us for the" Eurovision "should money.
This sponsorship money, which has not yet been calculated. I think that the amount will be more than the one to which they will fine us now. That is, they also took it into account, "- summed up the general director of the National Technical University.
As to whether the NSDC will appeal this decision, Alasania replied that we were given 20 days for this. The Chairman of the National Statistics Committee also stressed that this is not a case.
