The annual list of Forbes magazine "100 celebrities," this time surprised readers with a meager number of women.

But among the category of actors and there was not a single woman. Having looked through the rating, we will see only a few stars of serious cinema. While the acting profession takes the highest step in the hierarchy of American show business.

For example, Mark Wahlberg has the highest rating of a traditional movie star, and even he took the 20th position. It's strange that there is not one actress on the list. Of course, there are several celebrities who have acted in films such as Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Sofia Vargara. However, acting is not their main job.

The list does not include such actresses as Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone and not even Angelina Jolie or Julia Roberts. But the list was filled with musicians, sportsmen, TV and radio presenters.

By the way, Beyonce took second place thanks to her world tour, and Joan Rowling on Harry Potter continues to earn large sums and took third place. Rapper Drake finished fourth. But rapper Sean Combs took first place in the list. Most of the earnings he brought the sale of clothing.

The rest of the list is not as gender balanced as the first four positions.

Only 16% of the list is occupied by women.

Forbes explains that gender imbalance "reflects the wage gap in various industries". Note that the list of "100 celebrities" includes representatives of the sports, acting, music, television professions.

Recall that Natalie Portman recently touched on the issue of inequality in wages between men and women actors. She remembered the movie "More than Sex," where she was paid three times less than her counterpart Ashton Kutcher.
