The first trailer of the Mrs. America mini-series based on real events has appeared on the network. The action takes place in the USA of the 70s: the series tells about the fight for the Equal Rights Amendment Amendment - and against it.

The main character, a conservative activist Phyllis Schlafly, performed by Cate Blanchett, wages an information war against feminists of the second wave and the Women's Liberation Movement, birdinflight writes.. She publicly opposes the amendment, believing that it will take away privileges from housewives and mothers.

Shlafli is opposed by such famous feminists and public activists as Gloria Steinem, Betty Friedan, Shirley Chisholm and Bella Abzug.

In addition to Cate Blanchett, Rose Byrne (The Goddess of 1967, X-Men, Naked Juliet) played in the mini-series - she played the role of Gloria Stein, and also Sarah Paulson (American Crime History, 12 Years of Slavery. The series was shot by the FX channel, but will be shown on the Hulu streaming service - the premiere will be held on April 15.
