Taiwanese tech giant HTC founded Vive Arts back in 2017, and now they have come together with the Mona Lisa: Beyond the Glass project, which kicked off this week in the Louvre alongside Leonardo da Vinci's largest exhibition. It is reported by the publication Engadget.

So, a life-size 3D copy of Mona Lisa appeared in the most famous museum in the world: the installation can be seen from virtual reality in a special room Vive Cosmos.

To create a 3D version of the VR-artists used X-ray and infrared scanning of the canvas to determine how the face and body of the model looked, studied the perspective to determine the length of her nose and other details, and also tried to recreate the background behind her. The main idea of \u200b\u200bthe creators is to show how the extraterrestrial talent of Da Vinci changed the methods of art.

“The composition and technique that he used was a revolution at that time because he created a new way of portraying people,” said art director Emmanuel Gornstein.
