Five films are nominated for the European Film Award in the category of the best film of 2018, the event organizers said.

Contenders for the title of the best European director were Ali Abbasi, Matteo Garrone, Samuel Maoz (for the film “Foxtrot”), Pavel Pavlikovsky, Alice Rohrvaher.
